Hardships and trials are inevitable in life. We all face them. There is no way around it. However, there is a line between the blessings and trials of life. In today’s society, there is a line being crossed when people use their hardships as a means for gaining attention or sympathy from others.
This unfortunately happens to those in need who are hurting the most and put their trust in the wrong place. It seems like very little thought goes into their troubles and how it could impact their future, but God never stops giving them love and care through His Word.

Bible Verses about Hardships and Trials
There is a lot of advice in Christianity that focuses on how to get over hardships, how to overcome trials and tribulations. While this is a good topic for many people, it’s also important to know what you can do about these problems.
James 1:12 – Trials are an inevitable part of life.
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.James 1:12 (NIV)
1 Peter 5:10 – Suffering increases hope in a believer.
10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.1 Peter 5:10 (NIV)
The very trials that appear to be Satan’s means of destruction are actually God’s means of deliverance and development. Suffering causes an unbeliever to lose hope; however, suffering increases hope in a believer.
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.”
When a believer trusts God and relies on His grace, God builds character and brightens hope. As a result, God receives glory forever and ever.
Romans 12:12 – Better days are ahead of us.
12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.Romans 12:12 (NIV)
John 16:33 – Difficulties come unexpectedly and often last indefinitely.

1 Corinthians 10:13 – The temptation may be strong, but it does not have to consume you.
13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
One of the most powerful temptations we face is the belief that we can handle anything in life on our own. It makes no difference how capable you believe you are or how weak you feel.
The Word of God is a powerful temptation-repellent. The temptation may be strong, but it does not have to consume you. So, the next time you say, “I can handle it,” face the fact that you can’t.
God, on the other hand, can and will. You simply have to let him save you.

2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,James 1:2 (NIV)

James 1:2-8 – Trials help us to purge our spiritual flaws and mature our faith.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.James 1:2-8 (NIV)
We can find joy in trials because they teach us to rely on and trust God. Trials help us to purge our spiritual flaws and mature our faith. They promote joy by producing holiness in the lives of devoted believers.
We must evaluate life’s difficulties through the lens of faith, seeing them in the context of God’s good plan.
Allow the process to continue until that endurance is fully developed, and you will discover that you have matured into men of character with the appropriate level of independence.
Philippians 4:6-7 – Train your mind to seek comfort.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (ESV)
God will not allow us to stand on our own. He would have us rely solely on him. God would take away anything in us that would make our boast of our own strength in the life God has called us to.

The strength of the temptations we face will be proportional to the power God gives us to resist them.
While Satan and many humans are deceitful, God will always be by our side no matter what. God knows how strong each of us is against temptation and protects us from temptations that are too strong for us to bear.
God gives us the strength to bear and resist our sinful desires. If we fail and fall into sin, He will give us the opportunity to repent and rebuild our relationship with Him.

God’s plan may appear to be painful for a time, but it is for our good and His glory. We can bless others because we know God has a plan and is good.
1 John 4:4
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
1 John 4:4 (ESV)
There is no doubt that Satan, the evil one, is powerful, but God is much more powerful. The Lord’s mighty strength dwells in us through Jesus Christ and equips us to overcome the enemy. Our victory over Satan is complete, finished, and continuous.
We are overcomers because, on the cross, Jesus Christ defeated Satan and continues to defeat him in us. We will continue to face difficulties and trials as long as we live in this world.

Darkness symbolizes the world’s power of evil, sin, and unbelief, all of which lead to eternal death. According to Jesus, those who believe in the light become sons and daughters of the light: believers shine light into the darkness by loving one another.
Christ has come into the world to bring the good news of God’s salvation to everyone. No power of darkness can defeat or extinguish this light.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39 (ESV)
Jesus Christ loves his people mightily, with omnipotent, moment-by-moment love that does not always save us from calamity but never fails to preserve us for everlasting joy in his presence, even in the midst of suffering and death.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (ESV)
God is willing to use Satan to accomplish His own goals. His attempts to disrupt God’s work and servants may become part of God’s strategy to achieve His exact objectives.
He may say “no” to a request to relieve a believer’s burden, whether or not the burden is demonic in nature. If suffering causes a Christian to become more reliant on God, it may be accomplishing exactly what He desires in us.
The primary concern of God for His children is not a life of ease and leisure. His first goal is for us to trust Him. That means allowing Christ to be strong in places where we are weak, rather than resenting Him for allowing us to be weak.

Follow God’s guidelines and commands, knowing that He is working out the rest as you practice obedience.
God is concerned with how you have been wronged. He will look after you during those times. Do not be distracted by them. Keep your gaze fixed on Him.
