2 Timothy 1:7 – The Holy Spirit empowers us.
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

Timothy, like all of us, needed to be reminded that no matter how challenging or difficult life may get in this world, we have the permanently residing Holy Spirit of God, who has given us and empowered us with everything we need for life and godliness.
Jesus Himself forewarned us that we would experience hardships and challenges in this world, but He also reminded us to remember that He has overcome the world because He who is in us is bigger than the one who is in the world.
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for God is with you.
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

God instructs us not to worry about anything and tells us not to worry. He asks us to place all our worries in His capable hands because He loves us and has promised to stick by us through thick and thin, even to the end of the age. We are told not to be disheartened or discouraged by the Lord Jesus since He is our God, and that fact alone ought to be enough.
“Do not fear,” He beseeches us, “for I am with you.
Ephesians 6:10 – Accept your frailty and turn to God.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

Because God has selected the foolish things of this world to confound the wise and the weak things of this world to confound the mighty, we only turn to the Lord for the strength we need when we are aware of our weakness, incapability, and ineffectiveness. We won’t be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might unless we own our frailty.
Philippians 4:13 – Abide in him.
I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Paul was in need, yet he was not deterred because he knew that his strength came from Christ. He realized that despite his difficulties, he could lead a victorious Christian life.
Paul understood that we are prepared for any situation in life when we are positioned in Christ, abide in Him, and continue to be in connection with the Father. This is because while we are weak in ourselves, we receive strength from the Lord and are enabled by His Spirit.
Joshua 1:9 – God has vowed to be with us in every challenge.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua’s pledge that the all-powerful God is our only source of stability and support is still valid today. In the same manner that God was with Joshua when He gave him the command, God has vowed to be with us in every challenge we encounter and every issue that arises “Have I not told you to? Be tenacious and brave! Because the LORD, your God, is with you wherever you go, do not fear or be alarmed.”
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 – He is our life and our strength.
We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

Paul reminds us that even though we may be afflicted in every way, we are not crushed because the Lord is our life and strength. Paul says that more significant is He who is in us than he who is in the world. And even though we could be baffled by all the challenges we are required to confront, for His sake, we won’t give up because His grace is sufficient, and His vivifying strength within is perfected in our frailty.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – Take the Lord at His Word and put all of our faith in him.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Trusting the Lord eliminates the negative aspects of dread and uncertainty, keeps us steadfast through life’s storms and stressors, and replaces self-confidence with a trusting “God-confidence.”
Instead of using our misguided reasoning to justify our actions, we should take the Lord at His Word and put all of our faith in him, even when we don’t understand.
John 16:33 – When we abide in Christ, we are safe from all troubles.
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

In this verse, Jesus calls us to abide in him. No tribulation or promise will hold us back when we abide in Christ, for He will give us peace.
Take to heart these words from Christ Jesus, no matter how miserable your life condition and difficulties may be, “But have a heart! I’ve overcome the world.”
Romans 8:37 – A life saved by grace and secured in Christ is a victorious life.
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Paul is summing the life hidden with Christ in God in this passage. A life that is saved by grace and secured in Christ is an incredibly victorious life, despite all the tears, sorrows, and trials that lie in wait for us.
Let’s go through life believing that we are already successful thanks to Him who loves us, not only that we will triumph in the future.
Micah 7:8 – You will rise again.
Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.

Micah spoke for those brought low by personal and communal sin. Despite their humiliation, he warned their enemies not to rejoice because “when I fall, I will rise,” and “when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me.” “You see me brought low now, but know that it won’t be for long. “God will help me.”
James 1:12 – Persevere your worries, and you will be rewarded.
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

Life’s challenges might throw us off balance and drive us to doubt and despair, but the man who perseveres through them is rewarded because, after passing the test, he will be given the great crown of life that the Lord, our God, has promised to those who love him. For our eternal benefit and His greater glory, let us thank God for His goodness and grace while attempting to remain steadfast in Christ and hold on to His promises.
Psalm 31:24 – Despite what you may face, God is with you.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!

Every person has faced several difficult circumstances and temptations during their long lives. God is always watching over you, keeping you safe from catastrophe after disaster and misfortune after misfortune.
This is why I assert that everything a person enjoys, including happiness and tranquility, blessings and personal protection, is under God’s authority, who also directs and determines each person’s course in life.
Romans 12:2 – Train your hearts to see heavenly things.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Our hearts should be trained to see heavenly things that are real and honest, just and pure, gorgeous and healthful, virtuous, and of good reputation, while maintaining our attention on Jesus. Every negative thought should be recorded, and we should reject any motivation that denigrates our Savior. Then, we should allow those thoughts to pass through His purification process and refining fire.
Romans 5:1-5 – We have access to God’s tremendous grace.
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

We are at peace with God because of our faith in Christ, not our sin, which would have put us at odds with God. We have access to God’s tremendous grace via faith in Him, and it is this grace that enables us to stay firm in this evil day and fills us with joy in the expectation of God’s glory.
In fact, because of Christ, we have access to the throne of grace and can ask for compassion when we need it. Let us heed the advice to celebrate our suffering because, as members of the Body of Christ, we have received every spiritual blessing imaginable, both now and throughout all of the time to come.
Isaiah 33:6 – God is the source of all understanding and knowledge.
And he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.

Our God is full of knowledge, insight, and salvation. Humans may feel safe thinking that our strong security and money might save us from those who wish to harm us. Some rely on the educational system and scientific advancement to advance our knowledge and wisdom. And some of those ideas are accurate. But we forget that God is the source of all understanding and knowledge. In the end, only redemption that comes from the Lord is essential.
John 3:16 – He knows what is best for us.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

God is heavenly; He is all-seeing and all-knowing. He looks and watches over us with love and compassion despite our flaws, failures, and problems. God knows that we cannot go far on our own, so He gave us His beloved son to revive our souls and face this problem.
Isaiah 40:31 – Repent and live by faith.
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Even though these consoling words were intended for Israel, they apply to all of God’s people. They remind us to repent of any sin in our lives, live by faith rather than sight, and rely entirely on the Lord rather than on our understanding.
It involves having faith in God to fulfill all of His promises, even when logic and our senses seem to indicate otherwise or to run counter to what He has said will be true.
